Professional Profile
Dan Beebe has worked in intercollegiate athletics for over 35 years, during which time he was involved in some of college sports most interesting aspects—including conducting investigations of prominent NCAA infractions cases, working in the playoff and bowl post-season football formats, serving on important NCAA committees, and negotiating major television and bowl game deals. As commissioner of two Division I conferences, Dan oversaw all aspects of conference governance and operations including legal affairs, marketing, championships, television, media relations and all officiating programs.
Having worked with complex organizations and being involved in many cases of misconduct, Dan formed the Dan Beebe Group to assist institutions identify, prevent and respond to human relations risks. Such risks may include misconduct such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, sexual abuse, bullying, hazing, physical or emotional abuse, academic fraud and violations of state, association and institutional rules. Dan’s experience as the CEO of highly visible public entities enables him to understand the role of chief executives and to help them establish an effective cultural and structural environment that will provide for a safe and productive workplace and educational organization built on transparency and trust.
For preventative risk management work, Dan often teams with other experts to assist progressive leaders protect their organizations by having independent verification and enhancement of the policies, procedures and practices. Dan also has been engaged to help respond to allegations of misconduct by investigating both the alleged behavior itself and/or by consulting on the manner by which the organization responded to allegations.
Beebe received his bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University, where he was a captain of the football team, and his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
