Brent Moberg is in his 11th year as a member of the CarrSports management consulting team, with primary focus on NCAA legislation, membership requirements, and rules compliance for intercollegiate athletics. He has skillfully guided numerous Division I and Division II institutions through the complexities of NCAA membership reclassification. Brent is highly respected by his peers and leaders in intercollegiate athletics for his collaborative style and deliberate approach to maintaining rules compliance and institutional control.
Brent has served as the Director of Compliance for the Notre Dame Athletics Department since 2009. Prior to joining the University of Notre Dame, he served as Director of Compliance and Adjunct Professor of Sport Management at Northern Illinois University. Preceding his tenure at NIU, he worked in the Athletic Departments at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and in the Law Office of Mario J. Tarara, P.C. in Rockford, Illinois.
Moberg earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Preprofessional Studies, Anthropology, and Theology from the University of Notre Dame in 2000. He earned his Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration in Sports Business at Marquette University, along with a Certificate in Sports Law from the National Sports Law Institute, each in 2004. He is a member of the bar in the state of Wisconsin. He also currently serves as a member of the NCAA’s Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee.
