Lamar University - Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO
POSITION DESCRIPTION
CarrSports Consulting will be assisting Lamar University in the search for a Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO that will coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Athletics Department Business Office. Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System and Lamar University rules and regulations is required. Responsible for preparing the annual proposed budget along with the Director of Athletics. The Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO reports directly to the Director of Athletics and serves on the department’s Leadership and Management Teams. This position will also serve as a sport supervisor for selected teams and other direct reports as assigned.
The Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO monitors budgets for all sports and departments. Submit invoices, requests to travel, contracts, etc. to various campus finance/travel departments. Responsible for distributing monthly budget status and annual status reports to all account managers. Supervises and evaluates ticket office personnel. Submit department revenue and expense data for the annual EADA Report and all NCAA Financial Reports. Serve as the primary contact for the annual NCAA Audit and provide all requested documentation for the auditors. Collect courtesy vehicle mileage logs and submit a quarterly report to the payroll office. Approve all deposits. Responsible for internal control mechanisms within the business and ticket office. Reviews ticket reconciliation reports for all athletics events. Ability to maintain accurate records concerning overall fiscal operations required. Ability to work cooperatively with staff members and supervisors required. Ability to tolerate flexible hours, nights and weekends required. Knowledge of NCAA rules required.
The Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO is the liaison to outbound ticket sales partner, The Aspire Group. Additionally, the position is the liaison to the apparel contractor for all apparel related orders and issues.
The position will work closely with the Assistant Athletics Director for Operations to manage all facility and capital projects as well as game and events operations.
A successful Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO will serve as a strategic and tactical senior leader within the department, possess a keen attention to detail, is data driven, and has excellent written and oral communication skills. The position will represent Lamar University Athletics on various campus committees and collaborate with campus partners surrounding the coordination of relevant projects and events.
The position will also assist with strategic planning and be responsible for drafting internal policies and procedures that enhance operations.
The position takes great pride in delivering exceptional customer assistance. To contribute toward operational productivity and efficiency, s/he will be a clearinghouse for many incoming requests to the department and is a liaison to a variety of stakeholders and interested parties.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be required as directed by the Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree preferred
3-5 years athletics business office preferred
